Quilting Class Block # 6.....

It was not an easy one!  I had a really hard time with the roof but otherwise I am pleased! I changed alot of the fabric as most of what was given to us was too bright for my taste.
I am one month behind as this was March's block.
Aprils looks much easier. It is spool blocks.  Of course the hard ones always seem to come out better, for me at least, than the so-called easy blocks!

Another old quilt.....

This is one of my favorite quilts!  Primitive blocks and cats plus strips and 2 inch blocks and whatever else it took to make the rows line up!  Lots of soft flannel on this one and heavily quilted.

This one and the blue one below both belong to my youngest son.  He resides and goes to school in Atlanta Ga.  I was visiting him last week and took the pics so I could add them to my blog.  This one is also over 10 years old but holding up well.  I did have to hand quilt the border while I was there as the stitching was coming loose.

Old Quilts........

This was the first quilt I ever made using a pattern.  Its a Rail Fence all in blues.  I should have used deeper colors to accentuate the steps but oh well.....  I made this about 12 years ago.

Guest room make over continues......

Almost done!  We finished the floor today.  I just love the way it came out, we don't finish with poly, but we use a tung oil/paint thinner mix to seal from the inside.
I wish I had taken a before pic!  The old floor was worn out poly, paint splatters and just general yuckiness.  Took two days to sand and clean and then just a couple of coats of the tung oil to finish.

Walls are vanilla with bright white trim.  I may or may not paint the bed at some point since it is scratched up.

Time to order a mattress for the bed....so who wants to be our first guest?

Another Puffy Pouch....this time for me!

I think with some practice I will get proficient with these.  However I still love it even with it's imperfections.   I want to be able to sew the handle velcro w/o the stitching showing on the outside, so I will construct it a bit different next time.

The lining is bright red with white polka dots.  Out shell is some old denim that I save off worn out jeans (usually used to recover pot holders) and some cream and red toile.  Pretty cute!!

My first paper pieced projects.....

These were made a few years ago and each one is hung in a bathroom.  The blue wreath is my favorite.  The green one ....well they are supposed to be  trees even though many people think they are green houses!  Both were hand quilted.
