This one is spoken for and I really like it!  The outer shell is a lightweight upholstery fabric.  I used a cotton grey/white for the inside with teal pockets.

FINALLY...Finished Quilt For My Nephew...................

I had forgotten to take pictures before I mailed it......I was down at the house and saw that he has it on his bed.....made me feel good!

We are still working in and on our kitchen.  Phase 3 pics coming soon!!

I am working on a scrap/crazy quilt - will post pics soon.  It is different than my usual because I am hand piecing and using all kinds of colors.  Will be a lap quilt for when hubby or I take a nap on the couch.

The farmer that owns and runs our local CSA had a baby boy this summer.  I finally got around to making him a block.  This one has 2 jingle bells for a nice soft tinkling sound.

Kitchen Make-Over Phase 2...................................

We took down the lonely cabinet that was there and added shelves, painted the same color as the cabinets, to hold all my vintage blue canning jars with spices.

Class Quilt Finished...................Love it!!

I took 10 of the finished blocks and cut them in quarters......the quilt is 2-sided and heavily quilted.
Far from perfect but I really like it!!
The camera angle makes it look rectangular but it is really square.

What do you think?

Mini Kitchen Make Over............................

We took out the corner base cabinets in order to put in a chest freezer - then hubby put in large wide open shelves.   I have always wanted to take out our wall cabinets and use open shelving, its my favorite and gives a vintage look.

Speaking of vintage - I made the curtains from a vintage eyelet tablecloth that I got for 50 cents!!!  I had a hole in the middle so I just worked around it.

Painted the walls a pretty blue and now it is so cheery!

Fabric Closet - All Cleaned Out and Organized by Color in Bins!!!

Hubby bought me tons of baskets so now all my fabric is color coordinated and in its own basket.

The lingerie chest is full of scraps - I am a fabric hoarder!!

I hope I can keep it this neat......

White Side of the Quilting Class Quilt.................

Don't they look great together??  My challenge will be in sandwiching them with the batting so they line up perfectly for quilting.  The white will be quilted in white thread and the black in black thread.

UGH - just saw a mistake, the two sides do not match perfectly!!!  Oh well, there is that 'character' again

Quilt from Quilting Class Blocks......

This will be a lap sized/baby sized double sided quilt.  Here is the black side all done, now I will do the same except it will be on a white background.

We made 12 blocks total, I kept 2 whole and the rest were cut into 4 pieces.....I am very happy with the resulting look and am anxious to see how different the white background will look...

I LOVE it!!  So colorful!  I picked up the fabric for the top and back of the quilt and will post pics when its done.  I have till Dec 20......

My Teapot Collection............................

Yes, I know it is not quilting, but I got 2 more teapots today for my collection!  I also painted the inside of my hutch to make it look more built in.

Gift for a Friend......

This is a combination of paper piecing, selvages and Y seams.  I did not realize it was a bit crooked till I had finally finished framing it!  I used a light stain on the frame made from coffee/tea bags.

Even crooked I like it and hopefully so will the recipient!

"HEALTHY" Chocolate Milk with Just 3 Ingredients......

 So....I just LOVE chocolate anything and really wanted to make a good chocolate milk that would not kill my calories for the day! 

This is as simple as it gets......in your blender pour one serving of milk, 1 tsp of DARK chocolate powder and a squeeze of agave, honey or your sugar of choice. 

Blend well....it will come out frothy and taste a bit like a milk shake - you can add ice cubes for more of a shake texture.

Drink and enjoy your guilt free indulgence!

How to Stencil Furniture Using a Table Runner and Dust...................................

Normally I would never post a picture of my household dust but this took my by surprise!
I keep an eyelet table runner on this piece and when I took it off to clean this is what I saw....kind of pretty in a dusty sort of way!

My Simple Country Bedroom with Handmade Quilt

Took this pic today and it looked so good I could not resist adding it here.  I made the quilt over
10 years ago.  Bed frame and nightstands are from IKEA...bench is from a county fair I went to almost 20 years ago.

Cheap Storage Made Over.....

I did not take a before pic - but this is one of those cheap cabinets from Walmart.  I needed some extra storage in my bathroom, but wanted it to look nice.  This is just some fabric and a glue/water mixture......nice right?

Wristlet For A Friend.....

I have to get a better pic of the inside!  It is dark purple with a pocket on each side.
This is for a friend of mine who was looking to buy one....but why buy when I can make one for her that is a OOAK!!

I had a bit of trouble but it still came out pretty cool looking!

Spider Web!!  So quick and easy! 

The pic below shows what she made in class...but I can never do it the same, more fun to make changes and make it more "me"!

See what a few changes can do?  Makes a completely different looking block just by changing the color placement and making the center 'solid'....

It Has Been A While.........

Since I have posted anything new!  I do have another Quilting Class Block to post and will do that soon.

This is a small lap quilt, rag style.....I love doing these because they are so quick and forgiving.  This one is all flannel, no batting.....made for a friend of mine and I am excited to surprise her with it!

Quilting Class Block # 6.....

Its a beach ball, cute right?  Super easy to sew, even the curves were no big deal.  The only struggle I had was that it measures the correct 12 1/5 one way but only 12 1/4 the other. Oh well that is what borders are for!

I can't believe we are already 1/2 way through the year. 

My First Rag Quilt.......FUN!!

The first pic is the front and the second is the back.  Made with cast off denim from old jeans and flannel.   First time making one and I am hooked!  I did not use batting since the denim and flannel are heavy, there is no binding and it only took about 45 minutes to snip all the seams.  I HIGHLY recommend buying rag snips....much easier on the hands and less likely to snip through a seam.

This is going to a friend of mine who asked me over a year ago for one.  I hope she likes it!

It is called Flip Flop - looks like envelopes with a different tone for the flap.  I really like this one!

Blizzard Charlotte......

Looks like we got close to 2 feet and our section of CT got off easy!!!  I have friends and relatives along the shore east of us and they have at least 30 inches if not a full 3 feet. 

It is so windy and cold out there, just in from shoveling with lots more to do.
